“A young man without ambition is an old man waiting to be.” This Steven Brust’s quote is significant of Henrich Akomolafe Bankole, a seasoned young engineer who has given all to humanity and showed the world that his ambition is priceless.
For those who have come across the industrious Henrich, it didn’t come as a surprise when he was announced to be on the 5th edition of Forbes Africa 30 under 30 list of the continent’s talents and entrepreneurs.
Forbes revealed the reason why they saw him and other young leaders worthy to attain that recognition. “These are the young people who will lead the future society in the four sectors of business, technology, creativity and sport.”
It was like they saw the future, even though Henrich has been doing great job underground, not just for himself, but for communities across the world.
The 2016 Master of Science in IT graduate from the UPF Barcelona School of Management-Pompeu Fabra University , after studying abroad, returned to Nigeria to work in his family business of elevator manufacturing, where his entrepreneurial spirit helped make the company a sector leader in less than three years since its founding, securing large-scale national and international projects.
With his drive and international experience, Bankole took the company from 20 to 80 employees , all aged under 40.
As the famous Bishop Desmond Tutu rightly said”Before Nelson Mandela was arrested in 1962, he was an angry, relatively young man. He founded the ANC’s military wing. When he was released, he surprised everyone because he was talking about reconciliation and forgiveness and not about revenge.”
Even though he has everything at his disposal, Henrich Akomolafe Bankole continued to spend time with his people in Ekiti state for years. Giving them scholarships and empowering windows and orphans.
He was a link that brought in greatness to his people. He made sure they eschew Peace and reconcile whenever there was crisis among them. This gave him the name “Atunko”.
